The Golden Flower is Eurotium Cristatum, one of the primary and dominant microbe species found during the processing of Fuzhuan Tea and also is the major factor of the unique quality of Fuzhuan Tea. Observed under the microscope, the Golden Flower is in groups, with each Golden Flower granule in the appearance of an umbrella and its color golden. Microbiologist found the Golden Flower as a newly discovered microbial species on earth less than 30 years ago. The only other similar microbe, found over a thousand years ago, is lucid qanoderma.
It is rare and amazing to found the large number of Eurotium Cristatum on Fuzhuan Tea. Many microbiologist and experts from all over the world have been conducting research on the Golden Flower, in hopes to win the Novel Prize through these studies. Recently the PhD supervisor, Professor Liu Zhonghua from Hunan Agricultural University, by using the High Throughout Screening, separated a variety of active compounds from Fuzhuan Tea and found that there are two new active substances - A and B. These substances have proved to have the remarkable effects of lipid-lowering and glucose-lowering/anti-diabetic properties, at the molecular level. In May of 2007, Professor Liu Zhonghua revealed an academic report about "Fuzhuan Tea and the Golden Flower" at Harvard University in the United States and shocked many international experts of food engineering, agriculture, medicine and microbiology.
Many leading tea experts have performed animal experiments, human clinical trials, toxicology studies, safety assessment and epidemiological investigations with the results showing that the many compounds of the Golden Flower have the ability to activate the PPAR? and PPAR? models.
The two new active substances of Golden Flower, A and B, have been shown to reduce body fat or adipose and lower lipids, blood pressure, and blood sugar, significantly.
