polyphenols (TP) on free radical damage. MEHTODS: Used hemolysis,
changes of conformation of plasmid PUC19,
glutathione(GSH) levels of
mice liver homogenates as indexes. RESULTS: TP could reduce
significantly the degree of hemolysis of erythrocyte suspensions
induced by UV (P<0.01). TP could reduce the degree of single-strain
break of plasmid PUC19 induced by 60Co γ-rays (P<0.05 or P<0.01).
TP could inhibit the exhaustion of GSH levels of mice liver
homogenate initiated by Vit C/Fe2+ (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSION:
TP had a good antioxidative function, it can prevent RBC membrane,
plasmid DNA, tissue GSH suffering from oxygen free radical damage in
vitro.
