浅谈赏石对象的定名与英译

的英译，可以像中国的其他传统概念一样依照汉语进行音译。(如“功夫”译做：“GONGFU”，“气功”译做：“QIGONG”，这些英译均已被接受成为英语的新词)。而将之音译为：“SHIWAN”，同时，如需意译可用“stone curios”。
现将所有各名称试行英译，列陈对照如下，仅供参考：
观 赏 石 ornamental stone；appreciation stone；appreciating stone
石 玩 SHIWAN； stone curios
奇 石 marvellous stone； rare stone
怪 石 grotesque stone
雅 石 exquisite stone； elegant stone
寿 石 grotesque stone
水 石 SUISEKI (日本命名)
艺 石 matural stone(台湾译名)
灵 石 intelligence stone
禅 石 meditative stone
